Since winter decided to never really come to Tahoe this year, it’s time to move on and start enjoying the spring and summer activities that Tahoe has to offer! Below we have listed the upcoming Tahoe events for spring/summer of 2015:
Ongoing Events
- Tuesdays at Hard Rock Casino & Hotel – Free line dancing lessons from 2:00 – 4:00pm at Vinyl
- Tuesday nights at Himmel Haus – Blackout Bingo – Enjoy free “wild bingo” starting at 9pm where you have funny prizes, crazy hosts, music and Miss Bingo
- Wednesday nights at McP’s Taphouse Grill – Celtic Music Sessions – Starting at 7:30pm they have bagpipes outside and from 8:00pm on they have traditional Celtic music to enjoy inside
- Thursday nights at Xhale Hookah Lounge – Karaoke Night – Every Thursday is karaoke night at Xhale where they also have drink specials, beer pong and hookah specials
April
- April 3rd – Tot Easter Egg Hunt at Kahle Community Park – Bring your kids to see the Easter bunny, climb on the Tahoe Douglas fire trucks, enjoy the indoor playground and bounce house, and at 11:00am there’s an Easter egg hunt, just make sure you bring your own basket. - April 4th – Optimist Easter Egg Hunt – Located at Lake Tahoe Community College, here’s another chance for your kids to see the Easter bunny and participate in an Easter egg hunt. At 10:30am they have a small parade so wear your best bonnet or costume (you could win a prize!) and at 11:00am the egg hunt begins
- April 5th – Easter at the lake – Many restaurants around town offer special brunch menus on Easter including The Fresh Ketch, Riva Grill, Edgewood, and The Beacon.
- April 8th – Yappy Hour ACT Fundraiser at Base Camp Pizza – From 5:00-8:00pm this event put on by the Animal Coalition of Tahoe will have drink specials, live music and raffle prizes
- April 18th – “An Elegant Evening” Fundraiser – Put on by the Soroptomist International of Tahoe Sierra, this annual event is from 5:30 – 10:30pm. The event includes wine and spirit tastings, dinner and a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased on their website
- April 24th & 25th – Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show – This is the 4th annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show where you will meet all types of vendors for anything home or garden related. Admission is free and there will be live music, food, door prizes and drawing prizes. For more info call JoAnn at 530-544-7412
- April 25th – Earth Day at Bijou Community Park – From 10:00am – 3:00pm at Bijou Community Park, there will be many vendors and booths to help educate us on protecting our planet. There is also live music, a Kids Zone and an Earth Day Raffle

- May 2nd – Mom’s Morning Out – This is a chance for all moms to come out and enjoy a relaxing morning. Located at the Lake Tahoe Community College from 9:00am – 11:30am, this event will have complimentary yoga and fitness classes, brunch, massages, booths and more to pamper moms
- May 8th – Ride 2 Recovery, Honor Ride Lake Tahoe – This 19 mile bike ride is to help raise money for America’s war heroes where they provide mental and physical rehabilitation programs around the country. Registration is happening now and includes an event shirt, a medal when you finish, rest stops and support
- May 12th – 500 Miles of South Lake Tahoe Hikes – Local author and Tahoe native Aaron Hussmann will be giving a motivating hiking presentation at the South Lake Tahoe Library at 6:00pm. The presentation is free and a book sale and signing will be following immediately afterwards
- May 15th – Campgrounds Opening Day – Many of the campgrounds around South Lake Tahoe are aiming for a May 15th opening at this time, including Camp Richardson, Nevada Beach Campground and Fallen Leaf Campground. It’s time to bring out the s’mores and tents!
- May 22nd – May 25th – Lake Tahoe Summer Kick-off Car and Bike Show – Located at Heavenly Village, this is the first car and bike show in South Lake to get summer started. There will be 25 trophies, a poker run, sidewalk sales and a free show
- May 30th & 31st – Valhalla Renaissance Faire – The 23rd annual renaissance faire is returning to Lake Tahoe once again with all the medieval themed booths, shows, food, costumes and more! Tickets are already on sale through their website
June
- June 5th – June 7th – Valhalla Renaissance Faire – The 2nd weekend of the 23rd annual renaissance faire
- June 7th – America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride – This is the 24th annual bike ride around the lake, but this year it will starting and ending at the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Cyclists from all over the United States come to participate in this ride. After the ride Hard Rock will be hosting an After Ride Party
- June 20th – Rock Tahoe Half Marathon – Starting at Spooner Summit and ending at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, this half marathon also includes weekend activities such as a dinner on Friday, runners expo and an after pool party. More details on their website
- June 20th – Lake Tahoe Bike Challenge Celebration – This is the 10th annual Lake Tahoe bike challenge and Heavenly Village is throwing a party to celebrate. From 5:30 – 7:30pm there will be live music, awards and prizes
- June 27th – 28th – Race the Lake of the Sky – Throughout the weekend there are various races, vendors, food vendors, and live music. It’s a family friendly event and has become one of the most popular stand up paddleboard race events in the country. You can register now on their website
- June 25th – Live at Lakeview Concert Series – This free concert series at the Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach is scheudled to return starting June 25th. Along with the live music there are local vendors, a beer garden, and bike valet. Check their facebook page for future announcements regarding artists performing
Future Events
Every year Harveys Lake Tahoe has their outdoor concert series – tickets are on sale and some of the shows have already sold out. But if tickets are sold out you could always tailgate – the streets behind Harveys have become a popular destination to park your car and enjoy the music while hanging out with family and friends.
